Ahmad Matar Al Mheri is a UAE licensed lawyer, admitted to appear before all Courts in the UAE.

He graduated in 1996 from Abu Dhabi Police Academy with Bachelor in Law (“LL.B”), with honors, and obtained in 2000 his Masters in Law (“LL.M”) from Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, USA.

Prior to joining BRIDGE LEGAL GROUP, Mr. Al Mheiri spent more than 16 years at Abu Dhabi Water and Energy Authority (“ADWEA”), where he primarily advised on the implementation of the Government of Abu Dhabi Privatization Program.

Mr. Al Mheiri had initially started his legal career as a legal officer at ADWEA Privatization Directorate working on most of the Independent Water & Power Producers (IWPP) Projects that were developed and sponsored by ADWEA.

In 2010, Mr. Al Mheiri was promoted to the position of Legal Department Manager at ADWEA, handling, managing an overseeing the day-to-day legal affairs of ADWEA and its group of companies.

Mr. Al Mheiri’s extensive work on ADWEA privatization projects gave him a unique knowledge of the IWPP model contracts and implementation structures, including the financing schemes that were adopted to execute these projects in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

During his tenure at ADWEA, Mr. Al Mheiri worked on a number of landmark projects, namely the innovative Independent Sewage Treatment Plants Project of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the initial public offering of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (“TAQA”).

Mr. Al Mheiri serves as a Board member and director of AlMirfa Power Company, Al Ittihad Power Company, Emirates Sembcorp Water & Power Company and Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC.
